ADBE Loss

ADBE gapped down overnight and hit my stop loss.

Solid Loss 1/10

I’m tracking 10 losses where I followed the rules 100% with no second-guessing and no rule-breaking. The goal is to understand my own psychology under losses and gain confidence in the strategy during live execution. This is the first.

Stopped Out

At market open, ADBE gapped down overnight and hit my stop loss. The setup was good when I entered, the rules were all followed. The stock went in the wrong direction anyway. Part of building consistency is accepting that you won’t always win. Sticking to the strategy is the key.

The Setup

Entry was clean, RSI dipped below 30 and then MACD and RSI showed upward momentum. I made entry with the stop loss set under the recent low.

Overnight Gap

The gap hit my stop loss at open. I wasn’t expecting it to go that far, but I was prepared for it. That’s what the stop loss is for.

Mental State

I am disappointed to be out, but mostly because of the progress toward the 1% gain target for the 3 qualifying trading days. The momentum toward that milestone got interrupted. But disappointment isn’t a reason to break rules, so I logged the loss and moved on. The qualifying day rule is the most frustrating part of the challenge to me, but it is part of the rules to get funded. I can’t let the frustration of this rule affect my judgment or allow it to tempt me into higher risk to meet the target.

Why I’m Staying the Course

I have backtested this strategy over 300 times before opening these accounts, and specifically on this stock. I know the win rate and the risk profile. My system is low risk per trade, small position count, rules followed. This loss is data, not direction. I’ll keep following the rules, managing risk with appropriate stops and limited open positions. The next trade is waiting when I see the signals.

Solid Loss 2/10 coming next.
